What is scented clothing, actually?
Most clothing smells like nothing — or faintly like the warehouse it sat in. Scented clothing is different: the fragrance is part of the garment itself, added during making, so the piece arrives carrying a scent you notice the moment you open the bag.
How fabric holds a scent
The common method is microencapsulation: fragrance is sealed inside microscopic capsules that are bonded to the fabric. Wearing and movement break capsules a few at a time, which releases the scent gradually instead of all at once.
Why it fades — honestly
Every wash and every wear spends some of those capsules. Scent is strongest when you first open your order and softens over time and with washing. That's true of all scented clothing, whoever sells it. Any store promising a scent that never fades is promising something physics doesn't offer — which is why we publish no wash counts we haven't earned from our own customers.
Why it's rare
Walk a US high street and you'll find scented candles, scented lotions, scented everything — except clothes. The garments exist; they're mostly made by specialist suppliers overseas, and almost nobody in the US has built a store around them. That's the gap PreScented sits in: a small Texas store, a tiny launch collection, and every claim on the page tied to something our suppliers state or our buyers report.
